Having a fun after work is important. The Center’s Recreational activities include bowling leagues, basketball team, Intermural activities and dorm challenges, weight rooms, gym, a game room with pool tables and a video arcade, outside basketball and baseball courts and an arts and crafts area.

Excelsior Springs Job Corps students also participate in a variety of other activities, including group trips to Kansas City area attractions such as Worlds of Fun/Ocean of Fun Theme Park, professional sports games, and local shopping malls.

The Excelsior Springs Job Corps Center is only one of the two Job Corps Centers in the nation with a Naval Junior Reserved Officer Training Corps (NJROTC) as part of the program. The program is affiliated with the United States Navy, however, there is no obligation to join the military after graduation.
